Hoops

Have you noticed how many people are using hoops not just for embroidery with cross stich, but showcasing materials too. I love this idea and have done some cute floral prints for our house. The dotty fabric is vintage and kept from my gran. Dreamy.

When I grow up I want to be as good as Lauren Fowler at embroidery  http://lostisaplacetoo.blogspot.com

Jewels in printers trays

Lat sat i put my beauties in my old printers tray. I had been thinking about this for weeks.Sorry about the photo quality. I was chuffed to see divine Angie Batis from Lucky Pony thinking similar lovely thoughts. www.superduper/lucky/. Angiepants said that she got the idea from Thaya of beatnik bazaar fame. Sorry I missed that one Thaya. Nice to be on the same wave length.

Living in a Movie

Design Sponge has the most fantastic thing going on called "Living in" where she wonders what it would be like to live in a movie. My best: "Antonia's Line" or  "Amelie" (Photo booths, dotty umbrellas and those skirts and boots) or "Frida"

Those clothes... by the way if you ever see that book called "Frida Khalo's clothes" buy it and one for me too.

“living by Ghandi, learning by Google".

Have you heard this phrase in the new Audi advert? It is cool, but there are so many contradictions. Would Ghandi have wanted all the stimulation that learning by Google offeres? Would the skim-reading so many blogs in order to tell yourself you're up on the "NOW knowledge that learning by Google can take, rather than reading one piece of input slowly and digesting it really be advised by Ghandi in this day and age? What thinks you?

Reading lights

Don't you love these light shades made out of books? From Freshly Found. http://www.freshlyfound.blogspot.com/ A story in a vintage inspired reading light...

Foxy Loxy

Have you loved images of foxes, wolves and bears since you were small and just never grown out of them? There is something about their wildness that is authentic and magnificent, Don’t get me wrong I don’t want my head stuck in the jaws of a real bear. I love the archetypes and some avatars and I love illustrations that capture that authentic wildness because it reminds me to speak up even if my voice shakes (thanks for the grafitti angie http://superduper.co.za/lucky/)and to listen to that little voice.

Flu and Endometriosis an exciting cocktail

I have flu in back and endometriosis in my tum. Has anyone else had this particular whammy recently? My hubby, the gynae, tells me to have a 'mirena' insterted as it is thought to help with endometriosis without the side effects of a an oral hormone treatment. (The effect is lical). But it just feels wrong for me. What are your experiences of the Mirena? Some women have it put in after giving birth. Others say they can feel it there and had to have it out. I guess it depends on how sensitive you are. There used to be a wonderful homeopathic product that someone brought in from Switzerland called Endometrium comp Does anyone remember or know where to get it? My little daughter Elf gave me three magic kisses to make me better. I said it helped for a tiny bit because it was so sweet and she is a Champion Kisser and Hugger.
